Motivating Young Emirati Female Artists

As a patron of art, Her Highness Sheikha Manal Al Maktoum has launched a new initiative “The Sheikha Manal Art Exchange Program”. The aim of this program is to initiate a dialogue through art to foster genuine understanding, respect and appreciation between diverse cultures.

This initiative is a series of educational partnerships with renowned institutions and organizations, whose primary goal is to inculcate and recognize creativity in the realm of art and culture.

The launch of this initiative is in collaboration with “Art Basel”. Through a stringent qualification process 14 female Emiratis from the field of art have been granted this unique opportunity to experience contemporary art at Art Basel. Furthermore, the participants will experience ‘City of Museums’ Basel and its iconic and historical sites.

The program culminates with the participants producing tangible artwork of their collective experience in Basel upon their return to the U.A.E.
